Beam clear
Garage door repair and installation across North Jersey and Central Jersey
Broken springs, frayed cables, off track doors, dead openers and misaligned sensors, repaired at your home or business by appointment at any hour.
A written estimate is agreed before any work begins.
What we fix and install
Six services, one standard. Every visit begins with a full diagnostic of the springs, cables, rollers, tracks, opener and safety sensors, and ends with the door cycled and the auto reverse tested in front of you.
- Torsion springs
Spring replacement
Torsion and extension springs replaced as a pair, sized to the door's weight and wound with calibrated winding bars. Both springs replaced as a pair - Cable drum and lift cable
Cables and rollers
Frayed lift cables, worn rollers and drifting tracks found and corrected before they drop a door or bend a panel. Quiet travel, both sides level - Opener, rail and trolley
Opener repair
Chain, belt and jackshaft openers diagnosed and repaired, or replaced with a new unit programmed to the door it drives. Sensors aligned, reversal tested - Roller in the track
Garage door repair
Full diagnosis of springs, cables, rollers, tracks, opener and safety sensors, with same day repair for most common failures. Same day for most common failures - Hinge and sections
New door installation
New residential and commercial doors installed, the old door hauled away, tracks set to level and the opener programmed to the new door. Old door removed and hauled away - Photo eye sensor
Safety inspection
A 12 point check of the whole door system, from spring tension and cable condition to photo eyes and the auto reverse test. 12 points, findings in writing
The weight is the whole problem
A garage door can weigh several hundred pounds, and it is the springs, not the opener, that hold that weight. When a spring loses tension the opener strains, the door starts to slam, and every roller, cable and hinge wears faster than it should. Replacing the springs and rebalancing the door is what makes the rest of the hardware last.
All servicesIf the door is stuck or a spring has snapped
What happens in the first few minutes decides whether the job stays a spring replacement or turns into a door, a track and a cable job.
Call (908) 774-2221The phone is answered at any hour. Visits by appointment.
Before anyone touches the door
Leave the opener alone
Do not press the button again, and unplug the opener so nobody runs it by habit. Every cycle with a broken spring drags the door on one side and can throw a cable off its drum.
Keep people and cars clear
Keep everyone out of the doorway and do not lift the door by hand. If a car is inside, leave it there: a technician raises the door with the broken side supported.
Call (908) 774-2221
Describe what you see and, if you can, photograph the spring or the track. The photo is useful when you call.
How a visit goes
The same four stages on every job, from the first call to the last cycle of the door.
Contact us
Call, or send the form with a photograph or a short video of what the door is doing. We answer any hour and set a visit at a time that suits you.
Diagnosis and written price
The technician inspects the springs, cables, rollers, tracks, opener and safety sensors, explains what failed and why, and gives you the written price before any part comes off the door.
The repair
The failed part is replaced or repaired with the door secured. Torsion springs are changed as a pair with calibrated winding bars, and the door is rebalanced so it stays where you leave it.
Test and walk through
The door is run through full cycles, the photo eyes and the auto reverse are tested, and we walk the result with you before leaving. The work area is cleaned up and the old parts are taken away.

What we check on every visit
A garage door is the largest moving part of a house, and when something lets go it rarely fails alone. So the visit covers the whole door, not only the part that made the call.
A spring that snaps usually took a frayed cable or a worn roller with it, and an opener that reverses for no reason often has sensors out of line rather than a board fault. We diagnose before we quote, so the price covers the actual failure.
Our rule on every job: the door has to be safe to walk under, and the auto reverse has to pass its test, before the work is called finished.

Springs
Tension, balance and the condition of both springs.
Cables
Cable condition and drum seating, wound evenly on both sides.
Rollers
Roller wear across every section, nylon or steel.
Tracks
Track alignment, hinges and the brackets that hold it all.
Opener force and reverse
Force and travel limits, then the auto reverse test with an object laid flat in the door's path.
Sensor alignment
Photo eyes lined up, so the beam stops and reverses a closing door.
The 12 point safety inspection goes further: the emergency release, hinge integrity, bracket fastening, the weather seal and a balance test of the door, with every finding in writing.

Frequently asked questions
More answers on springs, sensors, noise and booking are on the FAQ page.
How often should a garage door be serviced?
Once a year for most homes. A safety inspection checks spring tension, cable condition, roller wear, track alignment and the auto reverse, and catches the worn part before it breaks the door and strands the car.
How long does a repair take?
Most common failures are finished in one visit. A torsion spring pair is usually one to two hours on site, and opener or sensor work is often faster. The written estimate says what the visit covers before any work begins.
The door opens and then will not close. What is wrong?
Usually the safety sensors. Photo eyes mounted a few inches off the floor stop the door when the beam between them is broken, and a bumped bracket, a spider web or low sun can fool them. Realignment is a small job, and it is checked with a proper reverse test before we leave.
Can you come in the evening or at night?
Yes. We book by appointment around the clock, and evening visits are routine because most households are out during the day.
Do you sell and install new doors too?
Yes. New door installation is one of the six services: steel, insulated, aluminum, glass and wood composite doors, with the old door taken away, the tracks aligned and the opener programmed to the new door.
A spring broke and the door is stuck. What should I do first?
Stop using the door. Do not try to lift it by hand, keep everyone away from it, and leave the opener alone until the springs are replaced. A spring replacement visit rebalances the door properly, and what to do in the first minutes is set out in the spring guide on the blog.
